
Meet Victoria
Victoria Rufo, a Nurse Practitioner joining our team, was born in northern Massachusetts and raised in southern New Hampshire. She has lived and practiced in NY, NH, MA, ME, NC and CT state and currently resides locally in New Britain, CT. Victoria is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), which means she cares for all persons across the lifespan. Lifespan medicine includes care of newborns, infants, toddlers, children, teens, adults, women’s health, older adults, elderly, and end-of-life care. A few of Victoria’s special interests include caring for LGBTQIA+/Gender Affirming Care, Psychiatry-Mental Health, Women’s Health Issues, Pediatrics, Sports Medicine, Addiction and Recovery Care, and care of Immigrant/Refugee specific issues. Some current professional goals of hers are to become dual board-certified in Psychiatric-Mental Health medicine and to become fluent in medical Spanish to help meet the needs of her patients.
Victoria completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree for FNP in 2023 at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in West Hartford, CT. Prior to her graduate degree, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in 2014 at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. Over her 11-year career, she has been recognized by peers and leadership for the quality of care she provides and has won awards for leadership, educational and nursing excellence in 2018, 2023, and 2024. Victoria has extensive clinical experience working as a Cardiovascular and Medical Intensive Care Unit nurse (CVICU, ICU, MICU) for 8 years prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Once a Nurse Practitioner, Victoria began her career in Community Medicine in Middletown, CT and is currently working part-time in primary/psychiatric medicine at Wheeler Clinic in Hartford, CT. She also will be working part-time with Deep Breaths Counseling to provide psychiatric-mental health medication services to patients in the form of telehealth video visits.
