Meet Katie
Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (CT), LMHC (RI), and CMPC who strives to help clients increase their self-awareness, self-acceptance, and potential to thrive in multiple life domains. Katie works with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal concerns, eating disorders, life transitions, and sport performance barriers. Katie's approaches are culturally-competent, strength-based, and humanistic. She integrates Internal Family Systems, trauma-informed, reality therapy, CBT and DBT interventions in her work. Katie has experience with children and teens, young adults, and couples; she also actively coordinates with other providers or client supports to help provide wrap-around and holistic care. She is enthusiastic and creative, applying humor to support the client as they confront their defenses and struggles. Her aim is to help others feel validated so that they may regulate, heal, and be proud of their most authentic and healthy Self.
Katie obtained her BA at Central CT State University; her MA at University of New Haven and St. Joseph Univ; and attended Springfield College to obtain experience and expertise in athletic counseling. Katie has extensive history in facilitating research throughout her academic career, and is currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Health Sciences program.
In her leisure, Katie enjoys reading, running, and eating chocolate.
